I have to admit, spending Christmas away from home was more difficult than I expected it to be. And no matter how many gifts you exchange or vodka shots (well in our case, champagne, since it was the next morning here) you share with the family over Skype, it doesn’t come close to being with them in person. BUT – I will say, New Year’s Eve – INCREDIBLE.
Kicked off the weekend with dinner at a French restaurant / private kitchen. Don’t know what was better – the fact that it was BYO, the food, or the company. Company (of course!!) wins…. but we are pretty thrilled to find BYO here. Now if I could just find BYO sushi….
Post dinner drinks. Should have stopped somewhere around Cosmo #3. Eh, nothing a nice long ‘lie-in’ the next morning couldn’t fix. So onto New Year’s Eve…
A familiar face to kick off the night. Thanks to Jane’s brilliant idea and master party planning skills to organize a private junk for about 30 of us…
This was our view for the night. Sadly, my camera didn’t last as long as we did that night. But it was back in action the next morning….
New Year’s Day Dragon & Lion Parade (or as it’s really known – Dance Extravagaaaanza). I’m sure I’ll have similar pics after Chinese New Year – so I’ll just leave it at this one.
Welcome 2012! Hoping for just as happy of a year as the last.
